Our Vision
Our program seeks to develop self-efficacy and successful intelligence through engagement in personally relevant, meaningful work, explicitly linked to possible college and career paths. Our "2e Icons" in the gallery at the icon link are successful writers, musicians, scientists, artists, and leaders whose own combination of gifts and challenges render them twice-exceptional by today's criterion. They model imagination, perseverance, and achievement, inspiring our students to do the same. We are completely devoted to the social, emotional, intellectual, academic, and creative growth of our "2e" students. After all, we could be teaching some of this generation's greatest minds.
Our Program
The diverse learning profiles of our students require a level of program individualization that exceeds the capacity of most public and independent schools, where time, resources, educational philosophy, and class size can limit options and make the implementation of differentiation strategies a challenge. With current advancements in information and communication technologies via the web, the educational climate is rich with opportunities for student-driven, highly personalized learning pathways under the guidance of skilled advisors and mentors. The Personalized Learning program employs strategic, research-based practices to maximize student engagement and achievement as they become passionate life-long learners.
Our high school purposefully integrates these essential, student-centered elements:
Our curriculum prepares students for the 21st century by fostering skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. We also emphasize proficiency with technology, as its effective use is a requisite skill in higher education and the workplace. Through engagement in our program, students develop the skills, habits, attitudes, expertise, and emotional intelligence they need to become accomplished adults and the architects of their own lives.
