In the Dungeons and Dragons after-school program, we will be running a roleplaying game in a setting much like "Lord of the Rings" where there are elves, dragons, wizards, and many other fantastical elements. Using the various skills of chosen, customized characters, the players must work together to not only tell the story but also to defeat the monsters lying within the story. Through this method, those who join will build their skills in collaborative storytelling, teamwork, tactical strategy, and creative problem solving. Highly recommended for fantasy readers, aspiring writers, and lovers of strategy games.

The course will enhance the students skills in effective discourse, active listening, logic, critical thinking, constructive communication, cognitive flexibility and perspective shifting.

The Bridges Robotics Program is a long-standing after-school program at the L.A. campus that functions like a sport for the mind. Being a part of "Team 4019, Mechanical Paradise," allows dedicated, mature, and ambitious students to go deeply into the field of engineering by participating on one or more of the core sub-teams: building, programming, design/modeling, and marketing. Each year Team 4019 participates in a large, international competition through an organization called FIRST that challenges students and teams to build, code, and test a complex, fully operational robot that performs a number of intricate tasks and competes against teams from all over the world for prestigious awards. It's the hardest fun any student will ever have!

Writing and Reading Literacy Hub

This program provides after-school help (specialized for 2e students) for homework in English and history centered on reading and writing in all arenas and ages. Additionally, support for gifted students with enrichment and supplemental above-grade-level content is available. Help will be offered to students struggling with class, with emphasis on annotation for fiction and practical, and efficient note-taking for non-fiction. In writing, sentence structure, elaboration, and translating information from reading into writing will also be emphasized. The lead humanities teacher from Bridges Academy high school, with expertise in 2e learning challenges and gifts, provides a positive and nurturing environment to foster growth in all writing and reading literacy areas and for all ages.

REFUND POLICY: Refunds may be offered to those students withdrawing from a course before it begins. Students may also receive partial refunds if withdrawing from a class early in the term. Prorated tuition is available to students joining a course after it has begun. These guidelines are applicable only to the after-school courses and don't apply to the after-care program.
