The Bridges 2e Center for Research and Professional Development hosted the Study with the Masters Institute on July 21-26, 2019, at Bridges Academy in Studio City, CA.

Leading experts in the field presented, including Jann Leppien, expert in advanced curriculum and innovative technology; Rachel McAnallen, expert in making math fun, accessible, and conceptual; Susannah Richards, well-known for her work in children’s literature; Chris Wiebe, Bridges Academy high school director and co-originator of the Young Expert Program at Bridges Academy; David Wildkress, learning specialist and co-originator of the Young Expert Program at Bridges Academy; Rose Blucher, former director of the Prince Georges County, Maryland, public school program for gifted students with learning differences; Max Melby, assistant director of the Arete Academy; and Leah Brzezinski, director of Arete Academy. They joines Susan Baum, director of the 2e Center, and Hank Nicols, dean of Bridges Graduate School for Cognitive Diversity in Education, for a week of intense learning.

Participants spent six days learning from experts in the 2e field through keynote addresses, courses, and workshops across three focus areas:

•Leadership for 2e-friendly schools
•Meaningful curriculum and instruction
•Understanding the complex 2e mind

They ended each day by attending a daily advanced group seminar with the “Master” of their choice.
